Built to be worn, not managed.

Lussèco is stainless steel finished in hard-coated gold PVD. That construction is the reason this page is short. There is almost nothing you need to do.


What your piece is made of
  • The core: stainless steel. Not brass, not zinc alloy, not plated base metal.
  • The finish: 14K, 16K or 18K gold PVD, depending on the piece. PVD bonds the colour to the steel under vacuum. It is not a paint or a dip.
  • What that means: the colour doesn't sit on top waiting to rub off. It's part of the surface.

The three questions we get asked. Waterproof? Yes. Shower, swim, sweat. Will it tarnish? No, PVD holds its colour. Sensitive skin? Hypoallergenic stainless steel, made for daily wear.

The whole routine

Three steps
  1. Wear it. Daily, through the shower, at the gym, to bed. That's what it was built for.
  2. Rinse after salt water or chlorine. Fresh water, then dry it. Thirty seconds.
  3. Wipe it with a soft cloth when it looks like it needs it. Skin oils dull any metal, and a cloth brings it straight back.

That's it. No pouches, no polish, no taking it off before the pool. If a care routine is complicated, the jewellery wasn't made properly.

What will actually damage it

Straight answers
  • Abrasion. Bleach-strength cleaning products, silver dips, and abrasive polishing cloths attack the finish directly. Nothing else on this list comes close.
  • Impact. Dropping a pendant on tile or catching a chain on a gym machine. Metal is hard, not indestructible.
  • Storing it wet in a sealed box. Not the water. The trapped moisture. Dry it, then put it away.

Not on the list: the shower, the ocean, the pool, sunscreen, perfume, sweat, or sleeping in it. Those are the things other brands tell you to avoid. We built around them instead.

Sterling silver pieces

The exception

A small number of pieces, mainly the lockets and a few studs, are 925 sterling silver rather than steel. Sterling is a softer, more traditional metal and it behaves differently: silver oxidises over time. That's the metal doing what silver does, not a fault in the piece.

Those pieces carry an anti-tarnish e-coat that slows it right down. Rinse and dry them after a swim rather than leaving them wet, wipe them with a soft cloth, and store them dry. Skip silver dips and abrasive polish. They strip the coating that's protecting it. Each product page tells you which metal you're buying.

If something goes wrong

Warranty

Every piece is covered by our anti-tarnish promise. If a Lussèco piece loses its colour under normal wear, reply to your order email with a photo and we'll replace it. Not a store credit, not a repair queue. A replacement.

Impact damage and wear from the products listed above aren't covered, but tell us anyway. We'd rather look at it than have you assume the answer.
